Cedar Siding STILL the Most Desired and it Costs Less than You Might Think
by admin on May.25, 2010, under Cedar Siding, Siding, Siding Prices
I want cedar siding but can’t afford it!?!?
What… really?
Many people don’t realize that cedar siding costs a lot less than most people think. What most people do know is that cedar siding is highly desirable… (psst) that’s what virtually all the vinyl & fiber cement siding is modeled after. How so many people just assume cedar siding is outside of their budget is somewhat of a common phenomenon.
But I though cedar siding was crazy expensive?.?.
Nope. We’ve seen many estimates for vinyl siding and fiber cement siding that were well over 50% more than what cedar siding would have been. Some of those bids were for legitimatly expensive products but most were for outrageously overpriced siding products and service.

Vinyl Siding pulls 80% ROI in 2008
by admin on Apr.05, 2009, under Replacement Windows, Siding

Vinyl Siding & Vinyl Replacement Windows have one of the best Cost vs. Value ratios (ROI) in this economy.
In a report by G.M. Filisko it is reported that “Remodeling magazine’s annual report shows that maintenance-related projects and moderately priced upgrades are providing stable paybacks, even in a slower market.” this is great news for siding market.
G.M. Filisko goes on to say, “Despite home price drops in many cities, remodeling projects are holding their own as a way for owners to add value.
Many people are wondering where their money will be safest during these uncertain economic times. When home owners turn to you for your expert advice, counsel them that some things never change: Investing in their home still pays off.
NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® statistics show that home prices have fallen by an average of 7 percent nationally in the past year. But the value of home owners’ investment in remodeling projects has declined only 3.86 percent on average between 2007 and 2008, according to Remodeling’s 2008–2009 Cost vs. Value Report.
Remodeling produces the Cost vs. Value Report each year in cooperation with REALTOR® magazine. REALTORS® responding to a survey in midsummer said home owners could expect to recoup a national average of 67.3 percent of their investment in 30 different home improvement projects. At the height of the housing boom in 2005, home owners could expect to recoup a national average of 86.7 percent on projects.
Remodeling remains hot in 10 cities, where, on at least some projects, home owners can recover 100 percent of their costs. In Charlotte, N.C., for example, decks, midrange kitchen remodels, vinyl siding, and window-replacement projects all would net more than they cost, in respondents’ estimation. High rates of recovery were seen in both strong real estate markets and weak ones.

Then we installed Tyvek underlayment and sealed around the windows and doors with Tyvek tape. Thus, creating a very effective weather membrane under the soon to be installed new siding. Next was the installations of the siding, which was all performed flawlessly as usual. The Problem with Vinyl Siding Prices & the Solution
by admin on Feb.24, 2009, under Vinyl Siding Prices

Vinyl Siding
Vinyl siding cost and vinyl siding prices are still such a mystery to so many consumers but we are making great headway in changing that.
Why is this a problem? It’s quite simple really, there are siding companies out there (mainly the big national & name brand endorsed ones) who are charging outrageous prices. Their siding costs so much it’s simply amazing anybody falls for it but that’s only because people don’t know how much it should cost. How do they sell at their outrageous prices? They trick the homeowners with high pressure sales tactics into thinking they are getting better products that are installed more professionally and backed by honest companies. In my experience: this is absurd, dishonest and simply untrue. I have seen more shoddy jobs, irate customers, low grade products and sub-standard workmanship by these sorts of companies than all others combined.
So what’s the solution? In one word – education. If consumers are made aware what average prices are and how much siding should cost – the task of the high pressure, overpriced siding salesman becomes insurmountable and rightly so. We give you that information with ball park vinyl siding prices, average vinyl siding prices and vinyl siding cost analysis pages. Our goal is to educate every consumer so THEY can make up their own minds rather than being pressured into overpaying for vinyl siding.
